Meridian moves money for importers and exporters across 40 corridors. Their legacy stack relied on batch files, manual reconciliation and three disconnected banking partners. We rebuilt the core as an event-driven payments platform with a customer dashboard finance teams actually enjoy using.
The challenge
Settlement took up to three business days, FX spreads were opaque, and the operations team spent 60% of their week reconciling ledgers by hand. Compliance checks were bolted on and slowed every transfer, while customers had no real-time visibility into where their money was.
Our approach
We designed a double-entry ledger as the single source of truth, then built payment orchestration on top of it with smart routing across banking partners. Sanctions and KYC screening run in parallel streams instead of in sequence. The customer dashboard shows every transfer as a live timeline, with locked FX quotes and downloadable reconciliation reports.
