Syntheia Technologies ("Syntheia", "we", "us") is a software development agency. We are the controller of personal data collected through this website, syntheia.dev.

We collect only what we need to respond to you and to run the site.

• Project enquiries: your name, work email, company, budget range, the services you are interested in and the message you write.
• Newsletter: your email address.
• Job applications: your name, email, phone number (optional), links to your profile or portfolio, your resume and any note you include.
• Technical data: your IP address, browser type, device information and pages requested, recorded in server logs by our hosting provider for security and reliability.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data. Please do not include it in free-text fields or resumes unless it is necessary for your application.

• To reply to your enquiry, schedule a call and prepare proposals.
• To send the newsletter you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To assess job applications and contact you about them.
• To keep the website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix technical problems.
• To meet legal obligations and protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects.

Where data protection law such as the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following bases:

• Consent, for the newsletter. You may withdraw it at any time.
• Legitimate interests, for responding to business enquiries, securing the site and preventing abuse, balanced against your rights.
• Steps prior to entering a contract, for handling job applications and project proposals you request.
• Legal obligation, where the law requires us to keep or disclose certain records.

We share personal data only with service providers that help us operate the site and our business, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• Resend, which delivers the emails sent from our forms and newsletter.
• Our hosting and infrastructure provider, which serves the website and stores server logs.
• Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants, where needed.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Syntheia, our clients or others.

Our team works from India, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, and our providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data out of the UK or European Economic Area, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

• Project enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless we start working together. Client records are kept for the period required by our contract and by law.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Job applications: up to 12 months after the role closes, or longer if you ask us to keep your details for future openings.
• Server logs: typically 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
• correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• ask us to delete your data;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
• nominate someone to exercise your rights, and seek grievance redress, as provided by India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@syntheia.dev. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

We use encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege practices to protect personal data. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.

At the time of writing this website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. See our cookie policy for details, which we will update if this changes.

Our website and services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Our website links to third-party sites such as LinkedIn and GitHub. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a material change, we will highlight it on this page.
